Behind The Scenes

Stage 1

The alluvial diamond mining photos pictured above are those of Yoav’s brother Chaim in West Africa. Chaim, in partnership with 2 of the local people of this region are overseeing mining activities along the river bed. Rough mined here is frequently misshapen, due to 1000’s of years of tumbling from the original pipe. The tumbling process however, generally yields cleaner, less fractured (cleaved) rough.

Stage 2

All polished diamonds originate from a rough crystal. The photo on the left features rough weighing from 8-10ct each. The primary yield from these will be a 3-4ct polished diamond. For relative size, the princess cut weighs 1.00cts. The photo on the right features a mélange of 2-3ct rough diamonds. The primary yield will be 1ct+ in the polished.

Stage 3

Virtually all our diamonds are manufactured in Ramat Gan, Israel. Here we contract with many of the worlds most skilled cutters. Our access and availability to the most advanced technological cutting equipment insures a high cutting quality while keeping production cost low.

Finished Product

Alas…The beauty and life of each diamond crystal has been unveiled from the rough. Each polished diamond manufactured is closely inspected by Premier throughout the cutting process, and ultimately at completion, to insure that the highest potential and cutting standards have been achieved.
